behind the wheel: the accident...

It was raining quite badly last Monday, so that had caused a quite heavy traffic jam in the city. Being occupied with work, I left the office a bit late, around 630 pm (considered late for me lah :P); together with Bryan – a trainee in my department, cum a son of a Senior Engineer in Tecnip whose father always came back late at night so he follows me back everyday.

So after one hour of driving, we were only about 5 km away from the office. It was all dark outside with the rain still pouring down. Bryan has been following me back for the past 2 months, and with him being a quite experienced driver in the city, he has taught me quite lots of lesson on how to survive driving in KL; from safety skills such as the art of switching the lane; to random skills such as the art of "not being so generous and lemah-lembut on the road". And if on some random days I decided to go mad driving at 100 km/hr in the city, he will hint me, "Oi Intan are you practising for your F1 championship?" :P. Haha. So that evening, he kept on reminding me to always keep a safe distance from the car in front, in order to avoid unfortunate events from happening.

Yes, I did keep a safe distance. Safe as in, about 3 to 4 metres away from the car in front of me; till I can see the back tyres of the car. However, if things were meant to be, it will surely be right? As I reached Jalan Pekeliling – where there is a ramp over there – a superbike came out of no where and crossed my way.  I quickly hit the brake and my car managed to stop on time, but still... due to the inertia... "BANGGG" just like that... Oh my God, it was a SUPERBIKE with a GUY riding it, so I was SHIVERING! The guy almost fell down from his bike but he managed to balance himself then. I was totally puzzled and scared that I half-crying-screamed.. "Bryannnnnn, tell me what I should do now!"..

Bryan was indeed in a shock too. But I supposed that boys handle pressure better than girls, so he was calmer than me. So he instructed me on what I was supposed to do.. "First, chill! Put the gear in neutral mode, lift up the handbrake, put on the hazard light and let's go and see the guy". So I heeded whatever Bryan told me to do but I was freaking scared to go out of the car that I swear that I felt as if my feet were glued to the floor, and my fingers were trembling to open the door.

Not moving from my seat, in the pouring rain, I saw the guy took out his helmet, checking his bike, and the next thing that he did was gazing through trying to see me - the driver, and then he stared SHARPLY at me. Then I saw him coming towards my car window. Despite the infinite scariness that lies within, I know exactly that I have to bear the responsible (provided that if it was proven to be my fault), and there is also this one thing we called manners right? So with the trembling fingers (and watery eyes :P :P :P), I lowered down the windowpane and asked, "Sorry.. errrr are you ok?". I swear that I wasn't expecting anything from the guy, except for:

1.     Perhaps a whack with his helmet on my car?  Well, I kind of have a quite bad impression to guys driving superbike, there are usually the hard-to-deal-with type of people right?

2.     Or perhaps he was going to drag me into a big argument to decide on whose fault it was, or perhaps I will need to pay the compensation for whatever damage I've done to his superbike? And that time I remembered that I only have a couple of 50 ringgit notes in my purse...

But you know what had happened instead? Surprisingly, he said "No, it's ok", with his hands showing me the sign to just drive away. In my heart, I was like, did miracle just happened to me? I hit a superbike, and I believed that the bike must at least scratched or according to what Bryan said, there was a damage on the bottom part of the bike and the light was broken and the guy just let me go without cursing me at all? Oh what more could I say other than, thank you God! Alhamdulillah :).

I was traumatised that I drove only at 40km/hr after that and I didn't utter any words ahaha. I fell sick for the whole week cause of the big shock.

So now is the best part of the story. Bryan has concluded that, judging from the facial expression, the guy was angry at first but since he saw a girl whom he probably thought just graduated from high school half-crying driving the car, he changed his mind and decided to let me go. Ahahaha. See, sometimes crying is the best thing to do! :P

But anyway.. Lessons learned from the accident:

1.     Never follow the car in front of you too closely. Always keep a safe distance.

2.     Buckle up your seatbelt – both front and rear. You never know when you are going to do emergency brake – just like what I did.

3.     If you are riding motorcycle, don't wear dark clothes with dark helmet during the night cause we can't see you! That guy was wearing black jacket with black helmet.

4.     Don't panic! (although this is the hardest thing for me to do).

Anyway, my car survived the accident with just a minor damage on the right-hand-side-signal-light and a minor scratch. It took me 5 days to actually let Abah knew about the accident cause I was scared to tell him. Ahahaha I purposely parked my car quite far from the house so that Abah can't see it :P. Anyway, Abah found out about it before I actually have the chance to send my car to the workshop – kantoi jugak last-last – after struggling to hide it for 5 days ahaha :P.

Drive safely. Think of your loved ones!

untukmu Palestin..

...

dermapalestin

Aiming at their heads and hearts? Does throwing stones to your mighty tank caused any harm to you?

Berapa ramai lagi yang perlu pergi untuk membuat kita percaya dan peduli dengan nasib saudara kita di sana? Mari kita musnahkan Israel! Let's save this fragile and helpless holy land of ours!

So, obviously it is a responsible for all of us to defend this fragile Palestine.. Let's make it real!

"Ya Allah.. sebagai mana Engkau pernah menghancurkan tentera Abrahah dengan burung-burung Ababil suatu ketika dulu, hancurkanlah tentera-tentera zionis ini dan selamatkan Palestine!"

birdie birdie..

Those pictures came from a forwarded e-mail. If memory served me right, I received that e-mail a couple of months ago. I usually will delete whatever forwarded e-mails that I received as soon as I opened them, but I've been keeping this one e-mail for so long because tears streaked down my cheeks when I first saw it. (Oh dear, you still don't know what kind of person yours truly is, do you? :)).

It was a sweet story of a couple of lovebirds - yep they were real birds. It was published in a French newspaper before.

Presenting... Memoirs of the lovebirds! :)

 Photobucket
Mrs Bird was injured and her condition was very appalling…

 Photobucket
Seeing that, Mr Bird brought her food and attended her with love and compassion...

Photobucket
Mr Bird was aware that his sweetheart was dying and most probably won't come to him again. So he cried with adoring love...

 Photobucket
He stood beside her and screamed, saddened of her death...

Photobucket
He was finally aware that she would not return to him anymore; she departed him. He stood beside her body with sadness and sorrow…

Isn't that way too sweet?

..after almost 5 months

Photobucket
Everyday, when I walked into the office, I surely will look at this cubicle name tag of mine so that I can get some inspiration and also, to learn to love my job.. I hope I will, little by little.. *hardly sowing the seeds of love*.. Anyway, that is my permanent work station.. I have my PC over there, but I am currently working somewhere else in which I dont have a PC at my new temporary workstation.. I'm returning back to my real workstation pretty soon, hopefully :)

Photobucket
Lol it is obvious that we don't have anything better to do.. No work; so that means snapping photos using phone camera :P.. Anyway.. that was me with sweetest Hanin, my bestest friend in Tecnip.. Hanin is Kelantanese, a UK graduate who has a real BIG heart.. If she is not there in Tecnip, I'm pretty sure that I would be struggling.. She accompanied me for buka puasa during Ramadhan everyday, when the traffic was too bad to be true for me to go back home.. Thanks Hanin!!
Hanin said that if only she was born to be a boy, she wanna marry me! Awwww... :P :P :P

Photobucket
Hehehe.. I curi-curi snapped my boss photo from my temporary workstation; my PC-less table :P..  In white is my current French boss.. He is 67 if I am not mistaken.. Very knowledgeable and smart but he likes to marah-marah us walaupun kami tidak bersalah :P.. Anyway, I am used to it now that I can even smile and giggle whenever he marah me.. Dulu-dulu memang kecik hati la setiap kali kena marah, sampai bergenang air mata.. tapi sekarang dah immune :P.. Next to him is the nicest Senior Engineer I have ever known in Tecnip.. That is my favourite Senior Engineer! He will surely back me up whenever the boss marah me if he knows that I am innocent (which most of the time is.. :P).. He taught me lots of things.. Thank God nice people like him still exists!

Ok.. that's all for now... Will surely write again soon with many updates!! :)
